This site is a place to find simple 3D files and techniques. Since most of the 3D images and animations I have created for the  state of Georgia are confidential, I will create new images and animations with descriptions of how these are created. But first,  let me list the software packages that I use or have used in the past. Everything can be done just using freeware, but the more you  invest, the better the quality becomes.

3D Crafter from http://www.amabilis.com/products.htm . The freeware version is very easy to use to make simple 3D objects and  animations. There is also a Plus version for $34.95 and a Pro version for $69.95. I have switched a lot of my simple 3D objects  with animations to this software because it is so easy to use. All versions work great.

Site Spinner from http://www.virtualMechanics.com/products/index.html . There is a freeware version called WebDwarf that I have  used in web classes to introduce web design. Site Spinner at $49.00 will easily create multiple page sites with the normal  collection of bells and whistles. The Pro version at $99.00 adds animations and behaviors that easily makes interactive sites.

Cam Studio from http://camstudio.downloadasaurus.com/ is freeware to record video and audio activity to avi or shockwave swf  files. Good for simple animation screen captures.

Camtasia Studio from http://www.techsmith.com , the professional version of Cam Studio is a bit pricey at $299.00, but it has all  of the video editing and LMS functions used for teaching and learning.

RoboWorks from http://www.newtonium.com/  has a free demo version for viewing 3D .scn files created in RoboWorks. All of the  instructors that I have mentored have the demo verison for use in class. Students also use this version when viewing 3D models and  animations that were created for classsroom use with RoboWorks. The purchased program is a bit expensive at $750.00, but is the  only high end software package that I would recommend.
The train AVI file was 2.5 MB, but the resulting GIF file is only 0.148 MB (148 KB)
